Pile Jackets and Box Culvert Repairs

Cost/Project Budget: $613,000 Completion Date: Sep-06		Project Description: This job consisted of two separate projects. First, the US-1 Bridge over the Pellicer Creek had to have pile jackets installed in order to extend the life of the pile foundations in the brackish water. Next, a box culvert under I-95 near Palm Coast was rehabilitated using Gunite. Both projects were successful with no major problems encountered. However, the pile jackets were difficult to install due to the tangle of cypress roots encountered in the bottom of Pellicer Creek. The extensive dry weather at the time was a big advantage to the box culvert repairs as the water level was only a trickle, but it did make for long hot days.
